Singer Joan Osborne and Bluegrass Legend Bobby Osborne to Headline Live Double-Broadcast of Michael Johnathon's WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour at Buffalo Trace Distillery

FRANKFORT, Ky., May 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Buffalo Trace Distillery announces a partnership with Michael Johnathon's WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour to celebrate Kentucky Music by bringing two Kentucky favorites together for a double-broadcast production on June 23, 2012. Singers Bobby Osborne, most known for "Rocky Top," one of the most popular songs in America's music history, and Joan Osborne, best known for her international hit single "One of Us" will both perform live in two separate shows on the grounds of Buffalo Trace Distillery, located in Frankfort, Ky.

The first broadcast taping will feature Kentucky born bluegrass legend Bobby Osborne, who is celebrating 60 years of performing bluegrass music around the world. As part of the legendary Osborne Brothers, he introduced one of the most popular songs in America's music canon: "Rocky Top." Born in Leslie County, Ky., Bobby was a pioneer in conceiving the now popular "high lead" vocal trio concept. He has released numerous recordings since the 1950s. The Osborne Brothers' recordings of "Rocky Top" and "Kentucky" were named official state songs of Tennessee and Kentucky, respectively. Bobby will be performing song tunes from his new album, "New Bluegrass and Old Heartaches."

The second taping that evening will feature the powerful pop vocals of Joan Osborne, also Kentucky born (no relation to Bobby.) Joan is a six time Grammy nominee who had a worldwide hit several years ago called "One of Us." Joan is from Anchorage, Ky, and is looking forward to bringing her musical style of R&B and soul songs back to her home state with the release of her seventh album, "Bring It On Home."

"We're excited to bring our WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour on the road, and Buffalo Trace Distillery, with its rolling hills and picturesque grounds is the perfect place to do so," said musician Michael Johnathon, founder, producer and host of WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour. "To have two great musical artists, both of whom happen to hail from Kentucky in one night, will be a fantastic show for people of all ages."

Tickets (one ticket to attend both tapings) are available now at only $25.00 and can be purchased at all area Liquor Barn locations, or at the Buffalo Trace Distillery Visitor Center, or online after May 25th at www.buffalotracedistillery.com/woodsongs.
