Holiday Searches Soar as Brits Seek Their Seychelles Paradise

CHESTER, England, May 4, 2012/PRNewswire/ --

- Holiday searches to Seychelles up by 3500 per cent following Simon Reeve's
Indian Ocean programme

BBC 2's Sunday evening programme 'Indian Ocean with Simon Reeve' has created a boost
of interest in the number of Brits looking to travel to the tropical, paradise islands of
the Seychelles according to travel comparison website, TravelSupermarket
[http://www.travelsupermarket.com/holidays ].

The first show of the series aired on Sunday 22 April and chronicled the adventurer's
travels from the tip of Africa, Cape Town, up along the east coast of the continent to
Mozambique and onto Zanzibar.

However, it was the second episode which aired last Sunday, 29 April which really
caught Brits' imagination prompting an uplift of over 3,500* per cent in searches for
holidays to the Indian Ocean island of the Seychelles, the final destination in the
programme's journey from Madagascar north.

Experts at the travel comparison site predict further spikes as the series showcases a
range of exotic destinations in upcoming programmes alongside other more extreme and
dangerous locations.

Next Sunday, (6 May) Simon Reeve and his crew continue north to Kenya and the Horn of
Africa paying a visit to Mogadishu, the war-torn capital of Somalia. The following week
(13 May) sees the presenter visit Oman, Mumbai and onto the beautiful beaches of the
Maldives [http://www.travelsupermarket.com/c/holidays/maldives ].

The penultimate programme (20 May) showcases the island of Sri Lanka telling the tale
of its strategic location and history of colonisation. Simon Reeve then continues to
Bangladesh to see huge prawn farms and the country's bustling shipping district.

The final leg of the journey (27 May) takes in the west coast of Indonesia before
concluding in South Western Australia

crocodile-catchers.

Bob Atkinson, travel expert at TravelSupermarket said: "Television programmes such as
this are a great window to the world so it is no surprise we have seen a huge surge of
interest in the Seychelles following the episode last Sunday. I suspect there will be
further spikes in searches as the programme continues around the Indian Ocean to exotic
destinations such as the Maldives and Sri Lanka."

*Based on holiday searches on http://www.travelsupermarket.com to the Seychelles
on Sunday 29 April between 20.00 - 21.00 vs. the same time the week before, Sunday 22
April. The site saw an uplift of 3595.45 per cent.
