-- Erase Hate Tampa Bay Extends Open Invite to Join the Battle Against Hate with Brandi Carlile
TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Erase Hate Tampa, a non-profit dedicated to making our community embrace a higher level of acceptance, today announced that they are hosting their first ever event at Curtis Hixon Park, located along the scenic downtown Tampa Riverwalk. The day's events kick-off with an all-age carnival atmosphere setting complete with food vendors and drinks. The evening portion of the event includes live musical performances by Brandi Carlile, Tampa's own MIGGS and other great artists.
Executive Director, Barbie Winterbottom shares, "Erase Hate Tampa Bay is creating a legacy of inclusion and acceptance in Tampa Bay and beyond by focusing on educating our youth and young adults to become leaders and champions for social change and awareness. We are thrilled by the response of our community partners, like Backline Music Group who is assisting us with the production of our first major event."
"We are passionate about bringing premier musical events to the Tampa Bay area as well the positive messages and initiatives they promote...Erase Hate is great ally in our community and a welcome addition to our festival lineup this year," said Kevin Lilly, Partner with Backline Music Group.
The first ever Erase Hate Tampa Bay Event was organized in order to gather residents of Tampa Bay and beyond to share the universal message that hate in any form has no place in today's society. Headlining the event is the folk rock singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile who recently played an intimate sold out show to a Capitol Theatre audience. As Carlile's fans know well, her concerts are near legendary in their perfect communion between performer and audience. Whether she is rocking out or standing quietly, tantalizingly close to the edge of the stage singing a capella, Carlile brings a riveting intensity to her shows.
General admission to the event is free, but for those looking to reserve space or receive preferential treatment there are a limited number of VIP tickets and packages available. For $75.00, VIP attendees receive admission to a reserved front stage viewing area, 2 drink tickets, 2 food tickets, access to VIP only areas and restrooms, an Erase Hate Tampa Bay T-shirt, and the satisfaction that they have contributed to a cause worth fighting for.
