Hendrick's Gin Enchanted Forest of Curiosities Revealed in San Francisco
Most Unusual Gin Brings Extraordinary Indoor Forest Installation to SoMa for the First Time to Kick Off Three Nights of Folly
SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The most delightfully curious Hendrick's Gin kicked off a most unusual series of events last night in SoMa as it unveiled its Enchanted Forest of Curiosities for the first time ever in San Francisco. The Hendrick's Enchanted Forest of Curiosities took the city by (winter) storm with a snow-filled indoor woodland scene brought to life filled with oddities, bizarre performances, and even a West Coast-rarity of a twinkling firefly or two.

Featuring a snowy indoor treescape, fresh moss and a seating area comprised of chopped tree trunks, the magical forest came to life in the most peculiar way as it took over an unsuspecting loft space in SoMa and served as the backdrop to the enchanted guests not quite sure of what to expect. From the unusual Hendrick's cocktails and canapes served by woodland sprites to the strange sounds of a 1920s inspired ukulele-led band, the curious essence of Hendrick's abounded as the forest was revealed for the first of three consecutive nights in San Francisco. Guests enjoyed Hendrick's cocktails created by Brand Ambassador Jim Ryan, including the Archangel, Snow Miser's Cooler, Alaskan Sour, Post In-Law's Visit Recovery Punch, But Fifteen "bob" Punch, Improved White Cargo Punch, Hendrick's Martini and Hendrick's and Tonic.
"The Hendrick's Enchanted Forest is but a mere peek into the wonderfully peculiar world of Hendrick's," said Joanne Birkitt, Hendrick's Gin Senior Brand Manager. "Nothing makes us happier than serving a tipple or two out of a wishing well while it snows over a mushroom garden growing indoors in San Francisco. We revel in the unexpected and love sharing the wonder of Hendrick's in magnificently curious settings. This is but a small taste of what we will be bringing to many more cities across the U.S. in the coming year."
The Hendrick's Enchanted Forest of Curiosities remains in San Francisco for two more evenings of uniquely delightful entertainment before opening in Brooklyn, New York on December 13, 2011. Guests will be treated to sword swallowers, bearded ladies, forest creature window performances and an unusual performance by a Balkan Romani Brass Band. The Brooklyn Enchanted Forest will feature, among other delights, a foraged dinner prepared by some of New York's finest chefs on December 14, 2011. About Hendrick's Gin and William Grant & Sons
Hendrick's is the most unusual Gin that has taken the world by storm since it was first introduced, thanks to its delightfully unique flavour, which combines a distinct blend of eleven botanicals, as well as the signature infusions of Cucumber and Rose petals, producing a wonderfully refreshing gin with a delightfully unique aroma. Hand crafted in Scotland in miniscule batches by William Grant & Sons, Hendrick's uses a marriage of spirits from a Carter-Head and Copper Pot Still, a combination that produces a divinely smooth gin that has both the required character and balance of subtle flavours. In the ten years since Hendrick's was first introduced to America, it has gained widespread acclaim and received numerous awards, including a Double gold medal at the San Francisco International Spirits Competition; 'Gin of the Year' at the Food and Wine Magazine Awards; voted 'World's Best Gin' by the Wall Street Journal and named "Distiller of the Year" at the 2010 Wine Enthusiast Awards. Hendrick's Gin has an ABV of 44% and an RRP of $32.99. For further information, visit www.hendricksgin.com.
