Groundbreaking 3D Film Showcases Quality of Certification Process

BURBANK, Calif., Dec. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- CAMERON | PACE Group, the industry leader in 3D technologies and production services, today announced that Martin Scorsese's critically acclaimed film "Hugo" is the first film to be "CPG Certified." Led by co-chairmen James Cameron and Vince Pace, CAMERON | PACE Group (CPG) has launched the CPG Certified program to guarantee to studios, filmmakers, and audiences that a film or television show has the highest quality 3D, as a result of CPG's involvement throughout the project's entire production cycle.

"Hugo" has been named best film of the year by the National Board of Review of Motion Pictures, nominated for a Golden Globe® as best dramatic film, and selected for consideration for Achievement in Visual Effects for the Academy Awards®. CPG supplied director Martin Scorsese, cinematographer Robert Richardson, and the "Hugo" crew with the industry-leading equipment and training that enabled them to shoot the film in 3D. And as a CPG Certified film, "Hugo" received even more support: using patented technology, CPG built a custom infrastructure that allowed the filmmakers to review stereo dailies that were unprecedentedly high-quality. CPG also worked on-set with the filmmakers, supervising the stereo acquisition, and then finished the effort by performing the stereo post-production work and delivering the final stereo DI (digital intermediate).
