MIDDLETON, Wis., Nov. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- For The North Central Group, owners, developers and operators of exceptional hotels, reaching its 30th year in business recently was cause for great celebration and reflection about what was truly important. The company continued its spirit of giving and appreciation by donating close to 4,000 pounds of food and more than $3,500 to local Feeding America organizations (formerly Second Harvest), as well as instituting Team Member Appreciation Day.

Team members at every one of its 30 hotels and corporate office participated in a very successful food drive in an effort to help the millions of Americans who are struggling with hunger. While team members and guests donated thousands of food items and monetary gifts, The North Central Group contributed $3,000 to the cause as part of its new charitable giving relationship with Feeding America.

To further commemorate this special occasion, the company unveiled a Proclamation establishing August 28th (the date of incorporation) as Team Member Appreciation Day. The North Central Group recognizes that its team members' unique talents, strengths, and experiences foster innovation, build strong guest relationships, and cultivate the company's ongoing success. The Proclamation expresses the company's sincere gratitude to all team members for their valued contributions and spirit of dedication.

To capture this extraordinary moment in time, The North Central Group created a time capsule with items from circa 2011. The time capsule will be sealed, stored and reopened again by the company's founder and chairman, David A. Lenz, and his family upon the company's 50th anniversary in 2031. Items collected for the time capsule include celebratory and team photos, mementos from each hotel, newspapers of the day, and the company's key business reports, to name a few.
