Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Coming to Greater Charlotte Area

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Coming to Greater Charlotte Area

Bellamy Homes Chosen to Lead the Build

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Bellamy Homes will soon surprise a deserving family in the greater Charlotte area with an extreme home makeover, as part of ABC's Emmy award-winning television reality show "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition."

"We are committed to serving our community and grateful to be in a position to help a very deserving family in the greater Charlotte area," said Frank Hereda, co-owner of Bellamy Homes. "With the help of thousands of volunteers, we'll build a new home for a family in need."

Several finalists in the greater Charlotte area were considered for the build, and all were deemed worthy causes. In December, one lucky family will get a knock on their door from team leader Ty Pennington and the show's design team.

The project needs more than 3,000 volunteers for general labor, food servers and clean-up workers, as well as skilled trade professionals.

"As a Charlottean, I know the greater Charlotte area has a long, distinguished history of helping others," said Bellamy Homes co-owner Wade Miller. "I'm confident in our community's willingness to contribute to this cause - it's an ambitious project, and we'll need the help of thousands of volunteers to get it done."

Bellamy Homes was selected as the contractor for the "extreme" build because of its reputation for quality and passion for the community. Bellamy Homes will be responsible for overseeing the project's construction and event management, while upholding the highest standards of quality craftsmanship, design and energy efficiency.

"We chose Bellamy Homes for this project because of their reputation as a top Charlotte-area builder and their strong commitment to helping their community," said Milan Vasic, senior producer of ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." "We're excited to work with them to accomplish the life-changing feat of providing a new home for a family in need."

The project will be completed in one week, and all products and labor will be donated by partnering trades and suppliers. The show will air next year with a two-hour special broadcast on ABC.
