Color of Change Censorship Campaign Backfires

WASHINGTON, Nov. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- 92 percent of voters on an online poll conducted by Mediabistro.com want Patrick J. Buchanan to be able to go on MSNBC to discuss his New York Times Best Seller, Suicide of a Superpower: Will America Survive to 2025?

Color of Change, a controversial organization founded by ousted Obama advisor Van Jones, has been calling for MSNBC to muzzle Buchanan, the former advisor to three U.S. Presidents, because of his book. The poll results indicate that the Color of Change Censorship Campaign has indeed backfired.

Mediabistro.com, which runs the TV Newser website, asked readers yesterday, "Should Pat Buchanan be allowed on MSNBC to talk about his book?" As of 3:15 p.m. EST today, 92 percent of respondents said yes, while only a mere 5 percent said no.

According to Michael Calderone of The Huffington Post, an unnamed MSNBC Executive has told him that MSNBC made a "conscious decision" not to have Buchanan on air to promote his book.
