Claremont to Celebrate Its Zip Code Day on 9-17-11 With Community Festival

CLAREMONT, Calif., Sept. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Move over 90210: The 91711 will take center stage next Saturday as Claremont, zip code 91711, celebrates its Zip Code Day with a full day of events, food, and live music performances at locations throughout the Southern California city.

Claremont's "Celebrate 91711" day is the result of a partnership between the City of Claremont, Claremont Chamber of Commerce, and the Village Marketing Group. The special events commemorating 9-17-11 include a Love-In at Shelton Park featuring live music, artists and vendor booths; musical performances at the Claremont Village Square, The Old School House, Claremont Depot, and Rhino Records; and walking tours of the Claremont Colleges and a Claremont artists studio tour.

Other Saturday, 9-17-11 events in Claremont include a geocaching treasure hunt, a classic car show, a community pancake breakfast, and an outdoor, synthetic "ice" skating rink. Many merchants and boutiques throughout the Claremont, listed in the Zip Code Passport, are hosting special sale events to mark Zip Code day.

Claremont residents are encouraged to gather at the historic Claremont Depot at 5:30 p.m. for a once-in-a-generation community photo.
