New Docu-series from Lisa S. Roberts and Ovation Features Modern Design as the Star

NEW YORK, Aug. 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Contemporary design objects are the real stars of "My Design Life," a new docu-series featuring design expert Lisa S. Roberts which premiered on Ovation on Wednesday, August 24 in two back-to-back episodes at 8:00 and 8:30 PM ET. Produced by Nancy Glass Productions, "My Design Life" follows Lisa and her team as they visit trade shows, museum exhibits and design stores gathering ideas and inspiration for Lisa's new book, DesignPOP: Popular Trends in Contemporary Product Design. The show will air in ten back-to-back half-hour episodes on Wednesday nights, with a "My Design Life" marathon recapping all ten episodes airing September 28 at 8:00 PM ET, and repeating on October 1 at 12:00 pm ET. The show can also be found on Comcast On Demand in the "Top Picks" section through October 31.

Throughout the season, viewers will be treated to an inside look at the inner workings of the design industry, including visits to the New York International Gift Fair, designer Karim Rashid's studio, and the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum. In addition, the show will spotlight iconic design objects from renowned companies and designers such as Alessi, Flos, Yves Behar, Ingo Maurer and Cappellini. A listing of products, designers, manufacturers, and purchasing information can be found on the show's comprehensive website, www.mydesignlife.tv. The website also features cast biographies, episode recaps, contact information and information on Lisa's first book, Antiques of the Future. "The show is entertaining and educational. My interest in design is grounded in the idea that if we teach people about design and what makes it valuable, they will be more likely to purchase these objects, enhancing their own lives and creating more work for designers," says Roberts. "Lisa's knowledge of design is so extensive, and her wealth of knowledge so vast, yet her approach is accessible," says Sara Baxter of Nancy Glass Productions.

Roberts is available for interviews; for additional information or to request an interview, please contact Rachel Lexier: Rachel@bdeonline.biz. For more information on the Ovation network or to find out which channel Ovation is on in your area, visit www.ovationtv.com.
