RELM Provides ARINC Interoperability Test and Demonstration Center with KNG Series Trunked Radios

WEST MELBOURNE, Fla., June 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- RELM Wireless Corporation (NYSE Amex: RWC) announced today that it has provided ARINC's Interoperability Test and Demonstration Center (ITDC) with P25 digital portable trunked land mobile radios. The KNG P800 model has successfully completed Project 25 Trunked interoperability testing in accordance with the Project 25 Compliance Assessment Program (P25CAP). This testing was conducted by a National Institutes of Standards and Technology (NIST) recognized test laboratory and validates interoperability under the Project 25 (P25) standard established by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO).

Today's land mobile radios continue to differ widely in their operational characteristics. The ARINC Interoperability Test and Demonstration Center (ITDC) enables independent, hands-on testing of LMR performance across multiple platforms, and objective performance evaluations. It is a unique, vendor-neutral platform where makers of Land Mobile Radio (LMR) equipment, their customers and technology partners can test performance characteristics and evaluate the interoperability of radio systems.
