WASHINGTON, April 19, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Tune in now to AFGE's "Inside Government" to hear Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.) discuss his efforts to ensure retroactive pay for furloughed federal employees in the event of a government shutdown. AFGE Department of Defense Local 1945 President Everett Kelley then discussed how a government shutdown would have impacted workers at the Anniston Army Depot in Anniston, Ala. Kelley also detailed his efforts to have 700 term employees converted to full-time status.
Lastly, former Clinton White House senior spokesman Bob Weiner weighed in on the bipartisan budget deal to avert a government shutdown. Weiner discussed where cuts will be made and the impact on working families.
