Lawyers Go "Prime Time" With Radio Show

MIAMI, April 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- "The Lawmen Show", heard weekly on Miami's business radio station 880 AM, "The Biz" has moved to prime time on Tuesdays at 5:00pm Eastern Time. "We're very excited about the move because 'drive time' is the Holy Grail of Radio," said Jonathan H. Parker, Attorney at Law and moderator of the show. "The Lawmen Show" is a call in talk show featuring three attorneys with their live impressions of legal issues and business news, sometimes controversial and sometimes it's just fun. "We've never had a bad call! Every single caller has had reasonable and rational legal and business questions," said David F. Anderson, Attorney and the show's alleged voice of reason. "We still can't get over the case of the farmer being able to bring his pitchfork into an Arizona courthouse because people can bring guns!" said Anderson. "Or the lawyer bride cancelling her wedding and suing her lawyer/ex-fiance because he was with strippers during his bachelor party in Las Vegas... Go figure," said David S. Kaufman, the attorney who occupies the third chair.

The attorneys are careful to explain to callers that they are only offering their impressions during short phone calls, and advise callers to contact the Florida Bar or email them at thelawmen@hotmail.com for an attorney to provide actual representation. Nevertheless, while the three typically disagree on the air, they are unanimous is their belief that "The Lawmen Show" is a public service. "While attorneys will complain about too many lawyers in town, most people have no idea how to get a quick opinion from an attorney or are afraid they'd have to mortgage the house to do so," according to Jonathan Parker. "One day I got a call from a listener off air who was so grateful to learn that he needed a simple will or there would be repercussions he was not aware of. He was almost crying," said David Anderson.

There are tough economic times out there with implications for everybody ranging from divorces to bankruptcy to mortgage foreclosure. "We try and help the public while keeping things entertaining," says Anderson.
