As night settles over Austin on Sunday March 13, Vimeo and Nikon, a leader in digital imaging present "Light After Dark" an official SXSW party featuring an evening of live musical mayhem and mind-melting visual stimuli activating the once-dormant Seaholm Power Plant to create history as the first-ever SXSW party held inside the massive industrial warehouse. World-renowned performers DIPLO and A/V mixologists Eclectic Method will supply the beats while artists seeper and CTRL transform the power plant, through awe-inspiring projection mapping, into a visual playground. Vimeo curated screenings will take place in the Vimeo Theater starting with a Best of Vimeo Shorts on Friday, March 11th 5:00pm-6:00pm where SXSW goers are invited to kick-off their film adventures with the creme de la creme of Vimeo shorts, featuring winners from the first-ever Vimeo Awards projected on the big screen. Vimeo will make a special announcement at the end regarding the next Vimeo Festival + Awards. Then, on Wednesday, March 16th from 4:30pm - 5:30pm, The Rhythm Image - Music Videos from Vimeo screening features a fresh cornucopia of the most innovative and creative original music videos from artists and directors across the globe.

Nikon and Vimeo Panel
On Monday, March 14th at 11:00 am, Nikon and Vimeo host a Film panel DSLR Video and Beyond: The Impact of Emerging Technology on Film Making with moderator Guy Kawasaki, photo journalist Bill Frakes, Vimeo's VP of Creative Development Blake Whitman and Nikon Inc's Senior Technical Manager, Steve Heiner. The panel will discuss how starting with the video-capable DSLR, affordable technologies are now starting to change the landscape for motion picture from indie cinema to journalism and music videos. The panel will be held in Room 13 A-B in SXSW ACC.
