The Return of Roger Hodgson Continues in Canada

Co-Founder Of Supertramp Sings His Classics Live and will not be appearing with his former band on their upcoming tour

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, March 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Long known as the voice of Supertramp, Roger Hodgson has in recent years returned to reclaim his enduring songs -- including many of the beloved rock classics that Hodgson first made famous with his former band decades ago like "Give a Little Bit," "Dreamer," "Take the Long Way Home ," "School," "The Logical Song" and "Breakfast in America," to name just a few. Hodgson is widely acclaimed as one of the most gifted composers and lyricists of our times - an artist who helped define a generation of progressive rock and whose powerful songs have already stood the ultimate test of time.

The anticipated release of "CLASSICS LIVE", a two CD set featuring solo, band and orchestra versions of Roger's classic hits is due for release shortly, and disc one is available now on his website.

Since choosing to leave Supertramp at its peak of popularity back in 1983, Hodgson has not performed with any of the various line ups billed as "Supertramp." However, he has been touring the world on his own, playing unplugged, band and orchestra shows, still touching audiences worldwide with his signature voice and classic hits. So his songs can once again be heard the way they were originally intended to by the man who wrote and sang them in the first place.

Gerry Gittelson from LA Daily News wrote of Roger's recent concert, "I don't think I've been this captivated in a long time. Hodgson's voice might be better than ever, there he was Monday, going from the keys to his guitar to a grand piano, delivering his Supertramp songs so perfectly. Chills down our spine or hair raised in the back of our neck? Try tears streaming down our face."

"Thankfully, people are still moved by my songs," says Hodgson, "they are very personal to me. They are pieces of my heart and life experience that I expressed in music. I know I have a very unique voice and there is nothing like hearing songs sung by the original author. It's really the fans who have kept my songs alive in their hearts all of these years. So to connect with so many of them now, and share the magic of this music together with them has been powerful one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. At the same time, it's been wonderful that the public is beginning to realize that it's my voice that has been singing to them on Supertramp albums and all the radios for these past 40 years. It's brought us all closer together."

Roger Hodgson has long enjoyed a special connection with Canada -- one that was beautifully captured on his acclaimed 2006 DVD "Take The Long Way Home, Live In Montreal," which was filmed at the city's Places des Arts. TheDVD went to #1 in Canada and Platinum in only 7 weeks, as well as achieving Gold status in France and Germany.

Now, following a run of sold-out dates in California, -- and a very special performance and interview filmed for the Grammy Museum -- Hodgson returns to the Great White North in March for three consecutive dates:

March 3- RIVER ROCK CASINO & RESORT- VANCOUVER, BC

March 4- RED ROBINSON SHOW THEATRE- VANCOUVER, BC

March 5- RIVER CREE CASINO & RESORT- EDMONTON, AB

Following these highly anticipated Western Canada dates, Roger will continue to tour internationally with concerts in Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Spain. Switzerland, France, Norway, before a returning to Canada for more dates in the fall, including the following dates with his full band:

October 28 and 29- SALLE WILFRID-PELLETIER-MONTREAL, QC
