The new, edgier version by Bigga P and Professor J features lyrics with playful yet reverent references to Michael Jackson's Thriller and the original Monster Mash artist Bobby (Boris) Pickett - peculiarly connected by their famous, ubiquitous Halloween songs.

According to Producer Bigga P, "Requests for the new lyrics, set to an eerie atmosphere with a modernized rhythmic beat, have been pouring in because yesterday 'Monster Mash song' was the 49th most popular Google search term."

I was mixing in my crypt late last night
When my eyes beheld an eerie sight
For my Monster from his slab began to rise
Then suddenly to my surprise
He did the Mash
It's just a grave yard smash

From the clubs on sunset to the joints in the east
To the Castles of old where the fanged ones feast
The ghouls all came from their humble abodes
To get a jolt from my electrodes
They did the Mash, it's just da monsta monsta mash
They did the Mash, it's just a grave yard smash

The scene--was rocking all were digging the sounds
Bigga P on the faders backed by his baying hounds
The living dead were about to get some
We lost MJ but his thrilla-ain't gone.
Now do the Mash, it's just da monsta monsta mash
Now do the Mash, it's just a grave yard smash

From Boris' coffin his voice did ring,
Seems he was troubled by just one thing
When he opened the lid he shook his rump
So now he gets down to my hip hop bump
It's now the Mash, we do the monsta monsta mash
Now do the Mash, it's just a grave yard smash

Now everything's cool, Bore's a part of the crew
And The Monster Mash will once again move you
For You the Living this Mash was meant too
When you get to my door tell 'em funk brought you

It's now the mash ...
...it's just a grave yard smash

Momentum from Da Monsta Mash is encouraging aspiring music composers to make 2011 submissions to the newly launched www.HalloweenMusicLives.com.
