Malibu Film Society to Honor Director Rob Reiner
October 24th Gala Will Honor Reiner as 'Malibu Filmmaker of the Year'
MALIBU, Calif., Oct. 15 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Malibu Film Society will honor director Rob Reiner as their 'Malibu Filmmaker of the Year' on Sunday, October 24, 2010 starting at 6:30pm at the Malibu Screening Room (located at Malibu Jewish Center and Synagogue), 24855 Pacific Coast Hwy.
The evening will begin with a catered cocktail reception followed by the 'Filmmaker of the Year' presentation at 7:15pm. Making the event truly memorable; opening remarks for this event will be delivered by none other than Rob's father, Carl Reiner. The evening will conclude with a screening of Reiner's latest feature film, "Flipped."
Director James Cameron was last year's presenter. The recipient was the legendary effects wizard Stan Winston.
From "This Is Spinal Tap" to "A Few Good Men," "Princess Bride" to "Misery," "When Harry Met Sally" to "Ghosts of Mississippi," Reiner has for the past 25 years written, produced and directed a remarkable range of Golden Globe and Oscar nominated films.
Admission to all MFS events is free for "All Access VIP" members of the film society.
For all others, advance purchase discount tickets are on sale now at MalibuFilmSociety.org, priced at $65 per person/$125 per couple and $30 for those 18 and under. Individual tickets will be $10 higher at the door on a space available basis.
