Provost Academy to Host Back-to-School Bash With Special Guest Eddie Bush

COLUMBIA, S.C., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Provost Academy will host a Back-to-School Bash featuring musician and South Carolina native Eddie Bush on Saturday, August 14 from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Riverfront Park in Columbia, S.C. This family friendly event will feature a musical performance by singer/songwriter Eddie Bush, as well as a variety of games, ice cream and a picnic with the Provost Academy staff. During the event, guests can learn more about Provost Academy and receive information on the school. The event is free and open-to-the-public.

Provost Academy South Carolina is a state-authorized public online school that is free of charge to residents of South Carolina, and offers high school students the public school choice of an engaging, adaptable and quality online learning experience. Students work toward their regular public high school diploma - recognized by colleges and employers - as they would in a traditional school, but in the convenient, safe environment of their own home through computer-based educational programs.

Eddie Bush is a strong supporter of the introduction and presence of music curricula in schools. Recently, Bush teamed up with EdisonLearning, a company aimed at assisting teachers and communities to improve public schools and boost student performance. With Bush's leadership, the company has entered the preliminary stages of designing a music curriculum to be implemented into its schools in the near future.

In addition, Bush, at the request of EdisonLearning, recently wrote and produced a song titled "Power of Youth," which incorporated the eight core values that lie at the heart of the EdisonLearning dream.
