Next Evolution of YouthBeat® Includes Time Capsule TV

CHICAGO, Aug. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Time Capsule TV, a Web-based show that features videos created by a virtual panel of families from across the country, is now available to subscribers of YouthBeat, a youth and family insight service from C&R Research in Chicago.

"Time Capsule TV is just one of the many new offerings from YouthBeat designed to help researchers, marketers and program developers deeply and intimately understand the lives of today's kids, tweens, teens and their families," said Amy Henry, Vice President of Youth Insights at C&R.

Time Capsule TV's videos help YouthBeat subscribers go beyond reading the findings that come from YouthBeat's survey of over 14,000 nationally representative youth and parents. Subscribers can now hear the stories of the lives of youth and families in their own voices.

"We have seen that this generation has the desire and the technological savvy to express their ideas in richer, more interesting, and ultimately, more personally revealing ways than ever before," said Henry. "Having kids, tweens and teens show us what they're passionate about, what they think is on the minds of their peers and how they feel about world events through video helps humanize the recipients of our clients' strategies and services.

"We think that getting to know kids, tweens and teens and their families better will ultimately help brands and services connect with this generation more authentically and offer products and ideas that really change their lives for the better," she added.

Recent episodes of Time Capsule TV show kids talking about trendy topics like "Silly Bandz" alongside more serious topics like their thoughts on the oil spill in the Gulf.

Other features new in YouthBeat include: a customizable data portal that allows subscribers to filter data from over 80,000 interviews to best suit their business needs (including age, gender, region and ethnicity); and an "on-call" service that allows subscribers to talk to YouthBeat experts about anything from a simple data request to a POV on a tricky youth marketing or research challenge.

"We reviewed YouthBeat through the eyes of marketers and researchers and have attempted to create a suite of products and tools that allow them to get the numbers they need both efficiently and effectively, but also provides them with the analysis that will help them really make meaning of the data," said Henry.

YouthBeat continues to offer subscribers deep-dives on topics ranging from music to meals, from social issues to social networking. And through its YearBook, YouthBeat offers perspective on both the timeless and timely issues related to youth and family culture and research.
