FilmOneFest Offers Award-Winning Short-Short Films at Free Outdoor Film Festival in Atlantic Highlands NJ Saturday, July 17

ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, N.J., July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Last summer, more than 800 people enjoyed the first FilmOneFest, a free, fun, town-wide celebration of the short-short film. On Saturday July 17, FilmOneFest returns to Atlantic Highlands. The party begins at 2:00 pm with a Chamber of Commerce sponsored street fair, sidewalk entertainment, music, and special treats offered by First Avenue's unique small shops and restaurants.

At 7 pm, the M Shanghai String Band takes the festival's outdoor stage. While the acclaimed jug band plays, stilt walkers, jugglers, face painters and more will mix and mingle with the festival audience at an old-fashioned down-home family party. Free drinks and popcorn will be provided by Whole Foods Market. Artwork, food and souvenirs will be available to purchase.

Beginning at 9 pm, sixty films- a movie a minute- will be screened outdoors under the stars on a large inflatable screen, with film trivia contests, music, an more at intermissions.

Sixty films have been selected from local, national, and international entries and prizes awarded by an expert panel of judges included truTV Executive Producer Jon Crowley, film critic Joan Ellis, sound editor Gedney Webb, and film commentator Victor Zak.

Admission and parking are free. Audience members may bring their own lawn chairs and blankets or purchase premium seating for $10 at the festival or at http://filmonefest.org/. FilmOneFest is ADA compliant, with deaf signers, free assistive listening devices and Braille and large print programs. In event of rain or high winds, the festival will be held at the Charles Hesse Parish Hall, 55 South Ave., Atlantic Highlands.. FilmOneFest accepts donations of nonperishable food for the Atlantic Highlands Food Pantry.

On Sunday July 18 from 11 am - 1 pm, meet festival organizers, filmmakers, and award winners at an Awards Reception at Julia's Restaurant, 91 First Ave. Atlantic Highlands. Reception tickets may be purchased for $15 at http://filmonefest.org/, at the Flaky Tart, 145 First Ave., or at the door.
