Universal You, the Second Studio Album From Nashville Singer/Songwriter Nathan Beaver, Set for June 29 Release

Universal You Will be Available Online Through iTunes, Zune, Amazon mp3, and More

DECATUR, Ga., June 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Nashville folk rock singer/songwriter Nathan Beaver is set to release his second studio album, Universal You, Tuesday, June 29. The album, Beaver's debut with Red Eye Gravy Records, will be available online through iTunes, Zune, Amazon mp3, and other select sites.

The follow up to his 2004 effort, Point B, Universal You reflects a deepening of Beaver's lyrics and a more refined and authentic musicality. Acclaimed producer Will Robertson's leadership ably showcases Beaver's smooth tenor vocals with instrumentation that supports but never gets in the way.

Beaver collaborated with several nationally-known musicians on Universal You, including Clay Cook (of the Zac Brown Band) on electric guitar, Kevin Leahy (Shawn Mullins) on drums, and Mark Van Allen (Sugarland, Travis Tritt) on pedal steel.

Beaver is most strongly influenced by folk rock singer/songwriters, including David Wilcox, Jeff Buckley, James Taylor, and Ryan Adams.

Universal You is currently featured as Paste magazine's Digital VIP Bonus Downloads June 2010 Album of the Month.

Eddie Owen, founder of famed music venue Eddie's Attic in downtown Decatur, GA, which nurtured the early careers of John Mayer, Shawn Mullins, Sugarland, and the Indigo Girls, said, "Nathan has talent, pure and simple. Keep an eye on this guy."

Universal You was an exercise in perseverance for Beaver; the entire effort spanned five years. When recording was approximately 80% complete, the studio lost everything through a technical glitch, forcing Beaver to again start from scratch.

"As excited as I am to finish Universal You, I'm equally excited about the response it's already getting," said Beaver. "People are hearing the songs - not the blood and sweat that went into putting them down on record - and it forces me to remember them, in their rawest form, the way they existed at the project's outset."

Richard Lenz, founder of Red Eye Gravy Records, said, "Universal You is a stunning debut. I'm thrilled that we can help share it with a broader audience."
