Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Ramps Up Collection Activity for Library and Archives
Critically-acclaimed producer and A&R representative to join team at world's first rock and roll research facility
CLEVELAND, June 3 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum announces that Gregg Geller, a critically-acclaimed producer and A&R representative, will join the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in collecting documents, personal papers, manuscripts, oral histories and other materials for the newly-built Library and Archives facility in Cleveland.
Geller has more than forty years experience in the music industry, including A&R positions at CBS Records and Warner Bros. and as a producer. He was responsible for signing artists such as Elvis Costello, Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Hiatt and Nick Lowe to Columbia and Epic Records. Geller has also produced numerous commercially-successful compilations for artists, including Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Prince, Sam Cooke and Rod Stewart. He created and directed Warner Bros. Records' "Warner Archives" series and "Warner Remasters," and received Grammy Award Nominations for The Legend by Johnny Cash and A Golden Celebration by Elvis Presley. He has been a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the Grammy Hall of Fame Committee and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nominating Committee.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum's Library and Archives is the world's first facility of its kind dedicated to the rock and roll art form. The Library and Archives is a state-of-the-art research center that serves as the permanent home to documents, oral histories, recordings, personal papers and other items from the most influential figures in rock's history. The Library and Archives will also enhance the Rock Hall's education programs at the university level.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum has been collecting for the Library and Archives since the Museum opened in 1995. The Library and Archives staff moved into the new facility in December 2009 and is currently cataloging, preserving and digitizing the collection in preparation for opening. The Library and Archives currently houses collections from Alan Freed, Ahmet Ertegun, Clive Davis, Jim Morrison's parents, Atlantic Records and other seminal rock and roll figures and organizations.
