Rentrak Renews a Long Term OnDemand Essentials Service Agreement with Turner Broadcasting System

PORTLAND, Ore., June 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Rentrak Corporation (NASDAQ:RENT), the leader in multi-screen media measurement serving the advertising and entertainment industries, today announced the company renewed its long-standing OnDemand Essentials® service agreement with Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (TBS, Inc.)

Turner Broadcasting is a leading force in the video-on-demand (VOD) platform across multiple programming categories including primetime entertainment, children's content and movies. Turner has validated significant VOD growth since initiating a partnership with Rentrak's OnDemand Essentials reporting service. Comparing April 2007 to December 2009, Turner's video-on-demand transactions have increased 139%, outpacing the industry's overall free-on-demand (FOD) content category which showed growth of 77% over the same period.

Turner's use of Rentrak's OnDemand Essentials reporting was key to understanding consumer response. Even with fast-forward disabled, viewers still chose to watch and stayed tuned for nearly the entire show.
