The La Jolla Festival of the Arts Has Something For Everyone

Fine Art, Music, Chalk Art, Book Authors, Car Exhibit, Kids Zone, And Much More

SAN DIEGO, June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- On June 26th and 27th, the 24th Annual La Jolla Festival of the Arts presented by Night & Day will give Festival goers many things to look forward to. This year's Festival will delight attendees with weekend long attractions in addition to the nearly 190 award-winning fine artists displaying extraordinary, unique pieces of art.

Experience street painting at its finest at Calle Color. Featured Madonnaro, Melanie Stimmell, and other premier street artists will use brilliant chalk pastels to turn an asphalt canvas into a stunning street of colors.

Once again a part of the Festival, there is an electrifying venue line up arranged by Warwick's featuring book signings and demonstrations from celebrity chefs and authors including Bernard Guillas, Ron Oliver, Deborah Schneider and Jen Yates.

There will also be a classic car exhibition featuring the modified racecars of the Cal-Diego Paralyzed Veterans Association - Motor Sports Program, the "Wicked Stangs" Mustang Club, and the Austin Healey Club of San Diego. The exhibit will feature rare classic British Sports Cars, highly modified muscle cars and racing configured autos.

Known for eclectic, weekend-long entertainment, the Festival has also booked a variety of live musical acts. The line-up spotlights several well-known musical artists, including Peter Sprague and Fred Benedetti, Dave Scott and Monsoon Jazz, the Fabulous Mar Dels, Rockola, the USN Southwest Brass Band and the USN Destroyers.

Restaurant Row will delight taste buds as usual, where attendees can satiate appetites and since this Festival strives to leave no one out, there will be an Interactive Kids Zone featuring booths, games and activities.

The Festival's mission is to provide the highest quality arts and entertainment experience in support of recreational and educational programs for San Diegans with disabilities. One hundred percent of the Festival's net proceeds go to support over 30 of these programs and since the Festival's inception over $1.7 million has been donated.

The Festival will take place June 26th and 27th from 9am to 5pm at UC San Diego's east campus located at Genesee Avenue and Regents Road. Admission is $10; children 10 and under are free. For more information visit www.lajollaartfestival.org or call (858) 586-1202.
