DETROIT, June 23 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- It's a full day of non-stop family fun with music, cars, and food! The CITY OF DAVID GOSPEL FEST & CAR SHOW is a super outdoor gospel music -- food fest -- car show extravaganza. It happens Saturday, June 26th at God's Graceland Park, just in front of Greater Grace Temple and admission is FREE! (Start time is 12 NOON for the car show, 5:00 p.m. for the Gospel Fest.) A big crowd is expected to bring their lawn chairs and blankets to the afternoon's gospel blowout featuring nationally known gospel artist Dorinda Clark-Cole. Plus, Angel Nevels (of the Nevels Sisters), Mark Holley & 1-A-Chord, and many more Detroit-area gospel artists.

THE GGT CLASSIC & NEW CAR SHOW features dozens of antique cars, hotrods, and even new cars straight from the dealers' showroom floors. Nearly 60-70 classics and hotrods are expected along with many new cars, both domestic and foreign models. In addition to the music and cars, there will be fabulous food, a train ride & inflatables for the kids, as well as games, prizes and giveaways.

The roots of this event go back to the 1980s when the church would sell barbecue dinners as a fundraiser. Some of the deacons would bring their classic cars to the event, and it would draw crowds, and of course customers. Over the years, more aspects were added, and it evolved into an outdoor gospel fest and classic car show.

This community festival is sponsored by The Master's Commission of Greater Grace Temple. It's also sponsored in part by the office of Wayne County Exec.
