Micro-Budget Kingpin Rock It Productions Conceives 'Conception'

LOS ANGELES, May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Los Angeles-based financing and production company Rock It Productions, LLC just completed principal photography on its first feature length micro-budget film entitled Conception, which was written and directed by scribe Josh Stolberg (Good Luck Chuck, Sorority Row, Piranha 3-D). Stolberg, who is repped by UTA, together with partner Stephanie Sherrin formed Rock It Productions. UTA actively assisted director Stolberg in assembling an exceptional cast for this romantic comedy.

Conception debunks the fairytale story of how many of us think we got here. Stolberg explains, "We want to take a realistic, unblinking look at conception and still see that in spite of the usual humble beginnings, it's still a great story." The result is a character-rich, romantic dramedy, featuring nine couples on the night they conceive their child.

Conception boasts standout performances from an accomplished cast that includes David Arquette (Scream, Never Been Kissed), Julie Bowen (Modern Family, Boston Legal), Gregory Smith (Everwood), Moon Bloodgood (Terminator Salvation), Pamela Adlon (Californication), Sarah Hyland (Modern Family), Matt Prokop (Furry Vengeance, High School Musical 3), Alan Tudyk (Firefly), and Jonathan Silverman (Weekend at Bernie's). The film is being produced by Josh Stolberg, Leila Leigh, and Stephanie Sherrin. Nicholas Taravella was the associate producer, and entertainment attorney Erick J. Feitshans handled all of the legal matters and assisted the company's principals with their strategic business plan. Rock It Productions intends on finalizing Conception in time for a hopeful entry into the Sundance Film Festival in 2011 and a subsequent theatrical release later that year.

Rock It Productions, LLC was formed in 2009 with the goal of financing, producing, and distributing between 3 to 5 films per year in the micro-budget category. The company is pursuing multiple projects with different writers and directors and was founded on the idea that quality films can be made for the worldwide marketplace at significantly lower costs than is the norm within Hollywood. Sherrin, a London School of Economics masters graduate, explained, "We believe we can make great films for a low cost, and combining that idea with a true financial partnership with the filmmakers makes great business sense to us." The company expects to be in production on their next film project this summer.
