Industry Icon brings wealth of experience and strategic insight

SALT LAKE CITY, May 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Broadcast International (BULLETIN BOARD: BCST) announced today the appointment of Mark F. Spagnolo to its board of directors. Mr. Spagnolo is an industry icon with a lifetime of executive experience in the key industries of communications, broadcasting, networking, service offerings, and many others.

Mark was on the forefront of the Internet revolution as CEO of UUNET where he grew revenues by a factor of 10 to over $5 Billion. He also enjoyed success as the CEO of SiteSmith where he led the company through a strategic exit by being acquired for $1.4 Billion.

His extensive strategic experience, intuition, and insight was developed over several decades working for EDS where he ended his twenty-plus year tenure as the President of the infotainment business unit. Mark has also held several board positions with various companies and currently is President of Spagnolo Group, LP.
