Degree(R) Encourages Women to Release Their Outdoorphins at Lilith This Summer

Degree Women Natureffects and Court Yard Hounds Invite Women to Report Live from Lilith

CHICAGO, May 6 /PRNewswire/ -- According to a recent survey by Degree Women, a little touch of nature goes a long way to improve a woman's mood throughout the day. That's why Degree Women Natureffects is sponsoring Lilith 2010, the hottest outdoor music festival of the summer, to celebrate women and the uplifting effects of nature. Degree is also offering one lucky woman the chance to get outside, get inspired and go on tour with Lilith where she'll report live, sharing interviews with talented female artists including Court Yard Hounds, who release their self-titled debut album today.

From now until June 3, 2010, fans can visit Facebook.com/DegreeWomen to enter Degree's Daring Reporter Contest by submitting a photo and video or short essay to share why they should be the one to hit the road this summer and get the scoop at Lilith for fans. The winner will travel to some of the top tour stops, gathering photos, video and exciting content to share online. Throughout the contest and during festival, the Degree Women Facebook page will feature exclusive performances and interviews with Court Yard Hounds, featuring Emily Robison and Martie Maguire of The Dixie Chicks, and showcase the reporter's experiences at Lilith.

"Degree Women and Lilith are all about celebrating women, and I know when I'm on stage I feel empowered, so I'm looking forward to sharing that experience this summer with all the fans," says Robison. "The Degree Daring Reporter Contest is such a great opportunity for one lucky winner to document her travels and share it with others."

Empowered by Nature

A recent survey conducted by Degree Women reveals that 85 percent of women surveyed say they would like to spend more time outdoors and many women (40 percent) have even gone so far as to call in sick to work so they could enjoy a beautiful day outside. And 78 percent say using products with fragrances inspired by nature makes them feel happier.

"In celebration of new Degree Women Natureffects, we're encouraging women to infuse a little nature into their every day this summer to lift their moods and stimulate their senses -- whether that means trying a new fragrance, enjoying lunch in the park or heading to an outdoor music festival like Lilith," said Jay Mathew, director of marketing, Degree Women.

Women now have an easy way to infuse a little nature into their daily routines, thanks to new Degree Women Natureffects anti-perspirants/deodorants and matching body mists. The new anti-perspirants/deodorants infuse Degree's top odor and wetness protection formula with fragrances inspired by natural ingredients. Matching body mists found in the deodorant aisle add a layered splash of refreshment to allow women to experience an uplifting, naturally inspired fragrance.

The scents are inspired by nature and incorporate fragrance ingredients known to fight odor. Degree Women Natureffects provides exceptional protection in three vibrant scents: Honeysuckle & Tea Tree Oil, Olive Leaf & Pink Pepper and Orange Flower & Cranberry. The Degree Women Natureffects Collection is available nationally at mass market retail stores with a suggested retail price of $3.99 (3 fl oz) for body mist and $3.99 (2.6 oz) for anti-perspirant. About Lilith 2010

From 1997 through 1999, Lilith Fair was one of the highest grossing touring festivals in the world, with over 1.5 million fans in attendance and raising over $10 million dollars for national and local charities. Founded by Grammy-award winning artist Sarah McLachlan, along with Dan Fraser, Marty Diamond and Terry McBride, Lilith Fair was the only tour of its kind -- a celebration of women in music -- led by McLachlan and featuring artists like Sheryl Crow, Christina Aguilera, Erykah Badu, The Dixie Chicks, The Pretenders, Nelly Furtado, Queen Latifah, Indigo Girls, and Tegan and Sara. Nearly 11 years later, Lilith makes its highly anticipated return in June 2010 to 36 North American cities with an incredibly eclectic and diverse line-up. The 11-artist line-up per city will constantly rotate among more than 80 confirmed acts, including Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson, Sheryl Crow, Erykah Badu, Emmylou Harris, Tegan & Sara, Loretta Lynn, Metric, Rihanna, Court Yard Hounds, Gossip and more. The philanthropic spirit of the original Lilith Fair remains in tact, with $2 from every ticket sold going to charity: $1 to a local women's charity in each tour market, $1 to the Lilith i4c Campaign, a for-profit venture that will help fund Lilith's future non-profit initiatives.
