Cindy McCain to Host Congressional Screening of Acclaimed Documentary BROTHERS AT WAR

Screening and Q&A with Filmmaker Jake Rademacher Takes Place Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History DVD Currently available nationwide from Summit Entertainment

WASHINGTON, March 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The USO will present a special congressional screening of Jake Rademacher's critically-acclaimed documentary BROTHERS AT WAR, March 10, 2010 at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. The evening is hosted by Cindy McCain. Medal of Honor recipient Buddy Buca, Army Chief of Staff Gen. George Casey and producer-director Rademacher will introduce the film.

Numerous members of Congress and top military leaders are expected to be on hand for the event, which begins at 6:30 p.m. with a reception in the museum's Flag Hall. The screening takes place in the Carmichael Auditorium at 7:30. Rademacher will answer audience members' questions following the screening. The event is sponsored by TriWest Healthcare Alliance.

In BROTHERS AT WAR, Rademacher sets out to understand the experience, sacrifice and motivation of his younger brothers Isaac and Joe who are serving in Iraq. To tell their stories, Jake embarks on a remarkable, often humorous and sometimes life-threatening journey, accompanying four combat units on secret reconnaissance missions on the Syrian border, into sniper "hide sites" in the Sunni Triangle and through raging machine gun battles. Ultimately, the film follows Isaac and Joe home, where the months of separation and perilous work take their toll not only on the soldiers but on their parents, siblings, wives and children. BROTHERS AT WAR provides a rare look at the bonds and service of our soldiers on the frontlines and the profound impact they have on the loved ones they leave behind.

Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times calls BROTHERS AT WAR "an honest, on-the-ground documentary about the lives of Americans fighting there. It has no spin. It's not left or right. It's not pro or anti-war...It is simply about men and women." Bill Newcott, entertainment editor for AARP The Magazine, writes: "BROTHERS AT WAR immerses us in the Iraq war experience with an intimacy born not only of technical and artistic achievement, but also of a profound personal connection with the soldiers in the field."

Military audiences positive response has helped make BROTHERS AT WAR the best selling war doc on DVD in the last four years. "We chewed some of the same dirt and have had some of the same tragedies happen," Marine SSgt. David Cox wrote. "I cried, laughed and felt those feelings of being on a combat patrol all over again." Military wife Beth Wilson wrote: "This movie is the closest I'll get to going to war with my husband."
