Telekom Austria the First Operator in Europe to Provide DivX Certified(R) ADB IPTV Set-Top Boxes

Austrian customers can playback high-quality DivX(R) video content on their TVs

SAN DIEGO and GENEVA, Feb. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- DivX, Inc. (NASDAQ:DIVX), a leading digital media company, and Advanced Digital Broadcast (ADB), a leading supplier of technology to the global digital television industry, today announced that market leader Telekom Austria is the first operator in Europe to provide DivX Certified® set-top-boxes (STB) to subscribers of its service. The ADB-3810TW internet protocol (IP) STB delivers a high-quality viewing experience for digital entertainment through native playback of DivX® video content accessed via USB drive or over the user's home network.

DivX technology allows video content to be compressed to a fraction of its original size, while maintaining excellent visual quality. Using DivX software, up to eight standard definition movies can fit on an 8 GB USB flash drive. The ADB-ADB3810TW allows playback of digital videos and Hollywood movies in the DivX format.

"We are proud to be involved in the first deployment of DivX Certified set-top boxes in Europe. Consumers are demanding an enhanced TV experience that gives them access to their favourite content from multiple sources, and the ability to watch DivX video on their television increases their entertainment options," explains Wojciech Doganowski, VP and General Manager, IPTV Business Unit at ADB. "DivX Certification is an important part of our strategy to help operators give their subscribers what they want. Having DivX technology pre-integrated into a set-top box platform also improves an operator's ability to launch new services to subscribers - a major contributor to reducing churn."

"We're pleased to work with ADB in satisfying the demand for DivX Certified STBs in Europe," said Matt Milne, Senior Vice President and GM, Licensing at DivX. "These devices power the seamless transfer of video content, enabling consumers to enjoy their DivX video collections, as well as premium Hollywood content."

Products that bear the DivX Certified logo have undergone a rigorous testing program to ensure a high-quality DivX media experience, including reliable video creation and playback, interoperability with other DivX Certified devices and the visual quality users expect from DivX.
