Grammy Award-winning Haitian Born Musician Wyclef Jean Selects The Garrigan Lyman Group to Create New Music Video

Grammy Award-winning Haitian Born Musician Wyclef Jean Selects The Garrigan Lyman Group to Create New Music Video

'Hold On' Video Provides Message of Hope for People of Haiti

SEATTLE, Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Grammy Award-winning musician, songwriter and producer, Wyclef Jean, engaged digital marketing agency, The Garrigan Lyman Group (GLG) Films division, to create his latest music video, "Hold On," a tribute to his homeland. The compelling new video was premiered on January 25, 2010 on MTV and brings a message of perseverance and hope even amidst the darkest times. As one of the leading celebrities involved in Haiti fundraising efforts, the video includes a message for viewers to text donations to Wyclef's Yele Haiti foundation by texting "Yele" to 501501.

The video's documentary style incorporated GLG Film's creative expertise and tenure in video production along with Wyclef's artistic vision. GLG Films developed the concept and assembled a production team that included the creators of the opening sequence for HBO's True Blood as well as the cinematographer for The Wrestler. Shot over a series of nights in Brooklyn, "Hold On" intercuts stories of lives in the balance alongside performance footage of Wyclef at the crossroads of a storm. After Haiti was struck by the devastating earthquake on January 12, the song's potential as an inspirational anthem crystallized, and it became the perfect vehicle to raise awareness about the relief effort. A direct call to donate was added as well as new footage of Haiti--not of the disaster, but of Haiti in more hopeful times, in future times, if we just "Hold On."

"We are proud to be working with such a talented musician to help bring his creative vision to life for his tribute to Haiti through 'Hold On'," said Rebecca Lyman, principal of The Garrigan Lyman Group. "Wyclef deserves so much recognition for the profound impact he's had in Haiti over the past decade and now."

"Hold On" is the lead single from Wyclef's next self-titled album, expected to be released in the second half of 2010. The song and video also features Dancehall guest artist, Mavado.
