Fresh Films Offers Creative Teens a Chance to Win a Movie-Making, Star-Studded Spring Break

CHICAGO, Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Fresh Films, the nation's leading filmmaking program exclusively for teens, is hosting a nationwide search for the REESE'S Puffs® Extraordinary Cinema program taking place over Spring Break 2010. Creative teens who want to trade in the ordinary for an extraordinary chance to go to Hollywood and create short films featuring America's favorite big screen talent including: Dominic Monaghan (FlashForward, LOST) and Bobb'e J. Thompson (30 Rock, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) can apply online, now through February 15, for their shot to participate.

Dominic Monaghan (FlashForward, LOST) expressed his enthusiasm on being involved, "When I heard about Fresh Films' new Spring break program -- REESE'S Puffs Extraordinary Cinema -- I immediately jumped on-board. The idea of stepping onto a film set completely run by teens is very exciting to me. I'm really looking forward to seeing what the teens come up with, especially because I love adventure on screen and off."

Since 2002, Fresh Films has been providing teens with a nationwide platform for creativity and expression. Fresh Films was created for every teen, not just future Spielbergs. Fresh Films provides teens with hands-on experiences in filmmaking and gives them the training, equipment, resources, connections and confidence to make their dreams come true. Every year millions across America and Hollywood pros get a sneak peak at the exciting potential the next generation of creative talent has to offer.

REESE'S Puffs cereal joined forces with Fresh Films to create the Extraordinary Cinema platform, giving even more teens nationwide the chance to realize the extraordinary within themselves by getting creative over their Spring Break.

Ali Brewer, REESE'S Puffs marketing added, "Far too often, teenagers are not taken seriously; their voices are not heard. That's why REESE'S Puffs teamed up with Fresh Films to give teens the chance to feel empowered through creative expression. We believe in teens' talent and potential, and can't wait to show millions across America what extraordinary things they can do."

"America just needs to open their eyes and see that the youth of the nation has more talent than they could ever imagine," added Madison Ford, a 17 year-old former Fresh Filmmaker.

REESE'S Puffs Extraordinary Cinema is open to any high school student from the ages of 13 to 18 living in the United States or the District of Columbia. Teens of all ages and experience levels are invited to apply. No experience is necessary. Applications are being accepted online at http://www.fresh-films.com/ through February 15th. Teens are asked to submit their story explaining why they should be selected for the REESE'S Puffs Extraordinary Cinema experience and share an extraordinary experience in their lives.

Bobb'e J. Thompson (30 Rock, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) said, "I've been fortunate to work with some of Hollywood's top actors and directors, but I've never had the chance to work on a film set where the film crew is all teenagers. We're going to have fun -- and it'll be exciting to walk onto the REESE'S Puffs Extraordinary Cinema film set, because everyone there will be a teen, just like me!"

In March, the selected teens will be flown from their hometowns to Hollywood, where they'll be assigned to work on one of two all-teen crews to create short films featuring celeb actors like Dominic Monaghan (FlashForward, LOST) and Bobb'e J. Thompson (30 Rock, Cloudy with the Chance of Meatballs). Selected teens will replace the pros on set, coordinating every aspect of film production: from story development to casting, to shooting and editing their films. And they'll do it all in just 7 days time.

After production wraps, the two short films premiere nationwide online at http://www.fresh-films.com/ and ON Demand where millions across America will view, vote and show their support for the next generation of extraordinarily talented teens.
