Former Bernstein Vice President Reed Tapped to Head Up ComStar Media Investor Relations and Business Development, and $50 Million Dollar Production Fund

DALLAS, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- ComStar Media, parent company of AmericanLife TV Network (ALN), FamilyNet TV, and FamilyNet Radio, today announced the hiring of Veteran Asset Manager and Investment Banker Ryland Reed as Executive Vice President, Business Development, for ComStar. Mr. Reed will be primarily responsible for raising a $50 million dollar production fund to further expand ComStar's diverse media holdings.

Reed has more than 15 years in private equity banking, retail banking, sales & marketing, and operational management. He comes to ComStar Media directly from his role as Vice President and Financial Advisor for Bernstein Global Wealth Management where he served for three years.

Prior to his tenure at Bernstein Global Wealth Management, Mr. Reed served as Co-Founder and Managing Director of the private venture capital firm Point Capital Partners where he managed over $65 million across several different investment funds. Mr. Reed has also served as Western Region Vice President of Sales and Director of Sales and Business Development for Digital Generation Systems where he negotiated and implemented strategic partnerships for media distribution products and services including Paramount Pictures and Microsoft's Media and Entertainment Group.

Mr. Reed began his career as an Account Executive in the Business Solutions Group at Alcatel USA where he was responsible for end-to-end network sales and client management. Early on, Reed served in the U.S. Army, being promoted to the final rank of Captain. He received his Bachelors of Science in Political Science from the prestigious U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Mr. Reed is also a member of the Business Executives for National Security (BENS), a nationwide, non-partisan organization of senior business executives committed to helping enhance the nation's security and military services.
