Pin-up sensation and singer Mayra Veronica launches her new single 'If You Wanna Fly' As the song flies up on the Billboard charts, the renowned sex symbol also graces the Billboard magazine cover out this week

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- The news of Veronica dropping her first name, and her appearance on the cover of Billboard magazine is fueling some chaos amongst her loyal Hispanic following, most of which are Christian. The controversy surrounds Veronica's portrayal of a snake while engulfed in wings. The snake is a very touchy subject amongst Christian worshippers, who are claiming it to be sacrilege.

Veronica, whose name means "True Image," says, "The snake is symbolic for 'sinner.' The title to my new album is ''Saint nor Sinner' -- therefore the depiction of both symbols. If they cannot see beyond the symbolism and wish to see it as sacrilege, then they have bigger problems to tend to."

'Saint nor Sinner' is scheduled for a November release. "If You Wanna Fly" is now hitting the airwaves. Billboard magazine is out now.
