Rentrak Announces Top Ten Movies-On-Demand Titles

- Rentrak's OnDemand Essentials Measures Video-On-Demand Television at a Full Census Level -

PORTLAND, Ore., Dec. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Rentrak Corporation (NASDAQ:RENT) , today announced the top ten movies-on-demand (VOD) titles based on consumer transaction rate for the Thanksgiving week period of November 23 through November 29. Movies-on-demand are transactional (pay-per-purchase) films available through cable and telco providers. Additionally, Rentrak released the top ten VOD titles from the previous week of November 16 through November 22.

The Transactional On Demand (TOD) category experienced a 26% increase in orders from October to November (excluding adult). With the increase being driven primarily by the Thanksgiving holiday, unique set-top-boxes accessing TOD grew by 50% and Thanksgiving week orders were up by 61% with New Release title transactions up 69% in a week-to-week comparison.

According to the company's OnDemand Essentials service, the top ten most-viewed titles, per data collected Thanksgiving week from November 23 through November 29, 2009 include:
