Stories That Inspire: 100.7 WHUD-FM Children's Miracle Network Radiothon for Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center

Annual Fundraising Event Scheduled for November 11-13, 2009

VALHALLA, N.Y., Nov. 4 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- For more than 30 hours over the course of three consecutive days next week, the lobby of Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center will serve as the on-air studio for 100.7 WHUD-FM personalities as the station plays host once again to the Children's Miracle Network Radiothon benefiting Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center.

Much like cheers on local football fields, Halloween costumes and colorful fall foliage, the Radiothon is quickly becoming an autumn rite for New York's Hudson Valley. The 2009 Radiothon is the event's fifth installment and will occur Wednesday, November 11 through Friday, November 13. During this time, WHUD-FM personalities will share the microphone with local families who will tell their inspiring stories of hope, perseverance and medical miracles. Maria Fareri Children's Hospital is the advanced care pediatric facility for the region and as such, treats children with the most severe injuries and complex conditions.

Over the years, more than $500,000 has been raised for Maria Fareri Children's Hospital through Radiothon efforts. While corporations and local businesses donate funds during the course of a typical Radiothon, the majority of the contributions are by local individuals who understand the Children's Hospital's important role in the community.

WHUD-FM morning show hosts Mike Bennett and Kacey will kick off the Radiothon Wednesday, November 11, bright and early at 5:30 a.m. before they hand the microphone over to afternoon personality Tom Furci at 10 a.m. Andy Bale takes the Radiothon baton from Furci at 2 p.m., and then concludes the day at 7 p.m. That schedule will be repeated Thursday, November 12, and "Mike and Kacey" will wrap things up at 10 a.m., Friday, November 13.
