(NYSE: GTN) (NYSE:and) (NYSE:GTN.A) Gray Television, Inc., a leader in local news technology recently launched two dominant Nebraska stations with high definition local newscasts. Both WOWT (Omaha) and KOLN/KGIN (Lincoln/Grand Island) are now delivering their local newscasts in widescreen HD, both firsts in the state of Nebraska. "We are very proud to be offering our viewers in Nebraska local HD news," commented Bob Prather, Gray President and COO. Earlier this year, WOWT launched a mobile TV signal. Mobile devices, such as a DVD player, cell phone, or navigation system, will need only a chip that acts as a receiver to receive WOWT's signal. This chip is expected to be available in consumer products later this year. WOWT's signal is free and will provide viewers with mobility for weather or emergency information in addition to regular programming and local news. WOWT Executive VP/GM, Charlie Peterson explains, "Mobile TV is important to our communities for emergency news and weather information, as well as entertainment. We are excited to be the first to offer this to our viewers." WOWT, an NBC affiliate, has been testing the mobile signal since the digital upgrade early this year.
