Corbin Bernsen Set to Shine on the Valley of the Sun

TEMPE, Ariz., Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Actor Corbin Bernsen will be in Phoenix performing in Tempe-based OWIGI Films' latest production entitled CLOSETS. Actor Lanny Rethaber is producing and Charles Peterson is the director.

CLOSETS, a psychological thriller, revolves around a middle-aged father, "Jonas" (played by Rethaber) who is tracking an unexplained entity that took his wife and son. Seven years later, this same entity comes back for more carnage and "Jonas" is back in the paranormal investigation business. "Jonas'" path leads him to a distraught family who has suffered a similar experience when their own child turns up missing. Corbin Bernsen will play "Grant," the father of the boy "Jonas" tries to help recover.

Tampa-based producer Russell Hess brought Bernsen to the film. "This is our most ambitious film yet. We've got aerial shots of various parts of the valley, mind-numbing special effects and Corbin Bernsen; we're grateful to have him. He's a phenomenal actor and will bring life to the role of Grant," said Rethaber.

Corbin Bernsen has starred in over 70 films and has been nominated twice for both Emmys and Golden Globe Awards for his role as "Arnie Becker" on the hit TV drama, "L.A. Law." Some memorable films include: Major League I, II, & Back to the Minors," "Disorganized Crime," "Shattered" and "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang." He currently can be seen on the USA series "Psych" and the long-running daytime drama, "The Young and the Restless" as Father Todd Williams.

Rethaber and Hess have pulled out a few stops to make this film a reality. Hess has produced a handful of Indies and teamed up with Rethaber after he procured a distribution deal for Rethaber's first feature film, "The 11th Aggression", which is currently available on satellite and cable. "Lanny's got a knack for making high quality studio alternative movies. He's built a team of young, highly-skilled filmmakers and I've wanted to work with him for quite some time," Hess said.

CLOSETS will be shot almost entirely in the Eastern part of Phoenix and Corbin Bernsen's portions of the film, will be done in Tempe. Such spectacular effects and stunts are not generally achieved in independent productions and landing a star is even more unusual.
