NBA Star Doug Christie and Wife Jackie Congratulate President Barack Obama on Winning the Nobel Peace Prize

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Oct. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- NBA star Doug Christie and his wife, author and designer, Jackie, send their congratulations to President Barack Obama for winning the Nobel Peace Prize, only the fourth U.S. president ever to receive this high honor.

The Christies are proud to honor the president for creating a new positive climate and understanding on his quest for world peace.

About the Nobel Prize:

The Nobel Prize is an international award administered by the Nobel Foundation in Stockholm, Sweden. In 1968, Sveriges Riksbank established The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, founder of the Nobel Prize. Each prize consists of a medal, personal diploma, and a cash award.

The Nobel Peace Prize, considered "the world's most prestigious prize," was awarded to Al Gore and the IPCC in 2007, and a total of 95 individuals and 23 organizations world wide. The Prize is awarded at a ceremony in the Oslo City Hall on December 10, the date on which Alfred Nobel died.
