The Laramie Project, Ten Years Later...an Epilogue Announces Celebrity Artists at a One-Night Event in Santa Monica

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 2 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles (GMCLA), The Broad Stage and Speak Theater Arts today announced the participants for The Laramie Project, Ten Years Later. . .an Epilogue on October 12th at 7:30 pm at The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica, CA. This special engagement, which will be part of 150 companies' world premiere event, will bring together theater with musical performances by the Chorus.

A powerful interpretation of the original work from Moises Kaufman's Tectonic Theater Company will be presented by a professional cast that includes the following personalities (scheduled to appear):

   --  Mary McDonnell -- Two-time Best Actress Academy Award nominee for       Dances with Wolves and Passionfish; Recently Battlestar Galactica's       President Laura Roslin     --  Mary McCormack -- Star of USA Network's In Plain Sight as U.S. Marshal       Mary Shannon and West Wing alum (Kate Harper).     --  Sharon Lawrence -- Four-time Emmy nominee (Sylvia Costas Sipowicz on       NYPD Blue and for a 2009 guest role on Grey's Anatomy)     --  Doug Spearman --  Best known as Chance in the LOGO series, Noah's Arc     --  Charlotte Rae -- Best actress nominee as Edna Garrett in the classic       sitcoms Diff'rent Strokes and The Facts of Life     --  City of West Hollywood Councilmember John Duran    

Music will include selections by Rufus Wainwright, the Dixie Chicks, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Bob Dylan, and Sons of the Pioneers. Recording artist Randi Driscoll will also perform live.

Proceeds from the evening will benefit GMCLA's AMP (A-LIVE Music Project), a new high school music education program that also focuses on combating bullying and violence against LGBT students.

This event is co-directed by Liesel Reinhart and Steven T. Seagle of Speak Theater Arts, produced by Jeffrey Morris of GMCLA with musical direction by GMCLA Interim Artistic Director, Dominic Gregorio. Lighting design by Kristie Roldan and Steven Young.
