TrafficTalk Announces Voice-Based Traffic Information Service at DEMOfall 09

Drivers Can Safely Access Reports From Other Drivers To Avoid or Escape Traffic Jams

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- At the DEMOfall 09 conference today, TrafficTalk announced a voice-based, mobile traffic information application which safely brings drivers together to help one other avoid or escape traffic jams. Group conversations are localized, focusing on particular roadways, allowing drivers to get the details they need to make informed decisions on their commutes.

Founder and CEO Larry Greenfield is leading the venture, leveraging the knowledge gained at his earlier company, TrafficFlex. "We proved the viability of a crowd-sourced information sharing model along key roadways," said Greenfield. "Our live beta testing demonstrated the power of voice collaboration -- we attracted thousands of users who shared information on accidents, incidents, and alternate routes, in real-time. When there was a traffic issue, we were the first place they went."

TrafficTalk is working to deploy its patent-pending VoiceSocial(TM) platform nationwide by partnering with existing industry players. "Where radio reports and navigation maps leave many questions unanswered, TrafficTalk gives drivers access to answers, allowing drivers to make better choices", said Greenfield. "We see TrafficTalk as a natural add-on to other navigation, mapping, and traffic-focused services."

Beyond providing more robust traffic details, TrafficTalk's voice technology allows drivers to keep their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel. TrafficTalk was hand-selected by the DEMO conference organizers as one of their first "AlphaPitch" companies -- pre-revenue firms in the product development stage with some of the most promising technology around.

"TrafficTalk has a safer way of filling the traffic information void," said Matt Marshall, executive producer of DEMO. "While I am seeing lots of traffic applications headed to smartphones, TrafficTalk's voice-based approach is unique. Given how distracting many apps can be for drivers, TrafficTalk may have the better mousetrap -- they are worth a good look."

TrafficTalk's revenue model includes audio advertising to end users, licensing of access to its interactive service and audio streams, subscription packages offering traffic alerts and hand-holding services for travelers. Enterprise mobile resource management services and the resale of location data and traffic incident data are also planned.

TrafficTalk is seeking strategic partners and investors to begin commercializing its services across the industry.
