THIRST ON DVD NOVEMBER 17, 2009 FROM UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOME ENTERTAINMENT "A MAD LOVE STORY" - Richard Corliss, Time Magazine "DARING, OPERATIC AND BLOODY FUNNY" - Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- OVERVIEW: From one of the world's most provocative filmmakers, Park Chan-wook, director of the smash hit Old Boy, comes Thirst, a highly original, erotic tale about a priest-turned-vampire. Thirst, "A mad love story that is Park's richest, craziest most mature work yet," (Richard Corliss, Time Magazine) was awarded the prestigious Cannes Film Festival Jury Prize in May 2009.

SYNOPSIS: Sang-hyun (Korean star Kang-ho, The Host) is a priest who cherishes life; so much so, that he selflessly volunteers for a secret vaccine development project meant to eradicate a deadly virus. The virus takes hold of the priest and a blood transfusion is provided, however, the blood is infected. Now, although Sang-hyun lives, he exists as a vampire. Struggling with his newfound carnal desire for blood, Sang-hyun's faith is further strained when a childhood friend's wife, Tae-ju (Kim Ok-vin), comes to him asking for his help in escaping her life. Sang-hyun soon plunges into a world of sensual pleasures, finding himself on intimate terms with the Seven Deadly Sins. Thirst is a truly wicked love story that takes classic vampire love to twisted new heights.
