EBRU TV Honored With Three Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards
SOMERSET, N.J., Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- EBRU TV, a bright new face in family-friendly, multicultural cable television, received Emmy Awards in three different categories at a festive, black tie gathering held this Saturday. Presented by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Mid-Atlantic Chapter, the awards recognize excellence in news, programming and individual achievement throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.
Nasuhi Yurt, EBRU TV's Vice President and Executive Producer for all three winning shows, expressed his joy at the hardworking channel's success.
"In less than three years, we've grown from a small satellite channel, to securing a place on cable, to winning these awards -- by never stopping to bring our viewers TV that's fresh and meaningful!"
Taking home the prize for Historical/Cultural Program or Special was World in America with its episode "Taiwan." Produced by Yurt and Gokhan Nalcaci, the series profiles the struggles and contributions of immigrants and ethnic communities inside the United States.
Producer Mustafa Tabanli beamed as he accepted an Emmy for Matter And Beyond. The ground-breaking show focuses on contemporary efforts to establish a positive relationship between science and spirituality. Its "Artificial Intelligence" won in the Health/Science category.
Also scoring a golden trophy, in the craft of Graphic Arts & Animation, was Ayhan Cebe for his work on EBRU TV's public affairs program Open Forum.
The Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards ceremony took place on September 26 at the Loews Hotel in Philadelphia, PA. The event annually recognizes outstanding achievements in television and related fields. All Emmy entries are judged outside the region by panels of peer professionals working in comparable television markets across the country.
