PALO ALTO, Calif., Sept. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Communications & Power Industries, Inc. (CPI) has been selected by Sentech Limited to provide high-power amplifiers (HPAs) to be used in broadcasting the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa(TM) to millions of football fans. Under the approximately $1 million contract, CPI will supply Sentech with outdoor C-band HPAs via its local sales and service representative Comscience (Pty) Ltd. These communications amplifiers will support broadcasts of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa matches from 10 football stadiums in nine cities around the country in June and July 2010. Work on the contract will be performed by CPI's Satcom Division and Microwave Power Products Division.
