LOS ANGELES, Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- SportsAsia Interactive Limited (SAI), a BVI company, focused on internet & mobile sports in Asia, announced today that it has reached an agreement and executed binding documents to close its first round of outside capital. The funding was led by SFF Investments, LLC, owned by Indianapolis Colt and NFL superstar Dwight Freeney, with BroadWebAsia, Inc. (BWBA.PK), MySpace founder Brad Greenspan's China-focused company, participating in the financing.

Key takeaway points:

- SportsAsia is also in advanced discussions to secure a sports licensing arrangement that would open up significant growth opportunities in Asia

-BroadWebAsia agrees to also contribute $10,000,000 in online carriage to promote SAI offerings across top Chinese video entertainment websites.

The capital will be used to support online & mobile sports growth opportunities including the sports content license SAI is currently in advanced discussions to secure on exclusive basis.

After and assuming the current license transaction closes, SportsAsia Interactive (SAI) intends to raise a second round of equity capital between $15-20 million dollars to support current initiatives as well as allow for SportsAsia to opportunistically secure other potentially strategic online/mobile sports assets or acquire distribution assets.

Subject to SportsAsia Interactive's closing of the sports license, BroadWebAsia, Inc. has agreed to contribute $10,000,000 in online carriage over a 3-year term to promote Sports Asia Interactive online offerings. SAI will be able to aggressively promote its sports content across BroadWebAsia's large Chinese audience on top video sites Hupo.TV and Mofile.com, which collectively reach over 30 million unique users in China.
