Music Plays on Love's Heartstrings in New Novel: A Love Song Combined with a Love Story
BEALETON, Va., Aug. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Music, a single song, has the power to transport a person to a forgotten memory of a feeling, a person, or special time in one's life. When the dynamics of love meet the emotional power of music, readers get "Love's Song" (published by iUniverse). "Love's Song" is the interpretation of a love story infused with a love song by debut author Brent A. Peters. It offers readers a creatively unique format by dividing the chapters like CD tracks; each track tells a smaller story within the whole.
"Love's Song" follows Darien who, since the age of sixteen, has filled a spiral notebook full of songs inspired by his own experiences and now owns a thriving nightclub called Strings. His mind is clouded with the thought of a lost love and he begins to question if he will ever get over her. Everything changes when he meets Melody; Darien falls instantly and completely in love and gets to fulfill his dream of creating songs from his heart. Darien touches the heart of Melody so skillfully that the two become inseparable. But even the most perfect relationships can crack, and despite all his best intentions, Darien feels Melody begin to slip through his fingers.
Through the pain and confusion of his relationship with Melody, Darien continues to write his songs, seeking to understand the barrage of feelings hammering against his heart. He wonders if Melody is the love he has been writing about his entire life, or if there is someone else waiting in the wings. Only time will tell, but Darien knows that whatever lays ahead, his music will illuminate the path he takes. Peters writes:
"Take this to heart when I tell you that love isn't there to defeat you, Darien. Love is there to pick you up when you're down. Love is the bridge that connects your heart to Melody's. Don't let a past love ruin a great love." I was grasping on to every word he spoke. "You know why they call it 'falling in love'? Because you've found someone who's there to catch you. If it's meant to be, she'll catch you, Darien! Just don't drop her in return."
