Interactive Site Engages Audiences of All Ages
AMARILLO, Texas, Aug. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Hastings Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ:HAST) , a leading multimedia entertainment retailer, announced today the launch of a new e-commerce web site that includes a prodigious assortment of new and used books, videos, music, video games and fashion trends products. The new site, www.goHastings.com, includes updated branding, expanded product availability, improved searching and browsing capabilities and improved interactivity for customers. The site will enable customers to access over 2.8 million unique new and used entertainment products and unique contemporary gifts.
Built by Fry, Inc., a leading e-commerce solutions provider, the new online storefront features a more interactive customer experience with enhanced browsing and buying capabilities. Fry built the site using its Open Commerce Platform(TM) ("OCP"), an e-commerce solution that provides retailers with the tools to expand their e-commerce business. With OCP, Hastings' new site also includes flexible merchandising and promotional tools such as cross sells and product reviews.
The new goHastings.com site features the ability to watch video and video game trailers, preview and download thousands of music titles, set up a user wish list that can be passed on to family and friends for improved gift giving, reserve a copy of an upcoming release to be picked up in one of our local stores or shipped to a customer upon release, and check the balance of a gift card. In addition to these features, the new site will integrate more seamlessly with stores, allowing customers to look up specific store information, store hours, unique store events, and check online to see if a desired item is in stock at their local store.
