FullTiltPoker.net's Online Qualifier Plays for $1 Million This Saturday

DUBLIN, August 7/PRNewswire/ -- Don Topel will play for $1 million this Saturday at 9:00 PM ET on NBC's Face The Ace after beating two FullTiltPoker.net pros on last week's episode. Don qualified to compete on the poker game show by winning a series of online qualifiers on FullTiltPoker.net.

Face the Ace, hosted by The Sopranos star Steve Schirripa, gives players the chance to challenge up to three FullTiltPoker.net pros on national TV. Contestants that defeat three poker pros in a row will win $1 million. The stakes are high - if contestants lose at any point, they leave with nothing. The pros that win their matches donate a $10,000 prize to a charity of their choice.

Face the Ace features an impressive line-up of poker professionals, like seven-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Phil Ivey, 2000 World Series of Poker Main Event Champion Chris Ferguson, and two-time WSOP bracelet winner Howard Lederer.

The first episode of NBC's Face the Ace aired Saturday, August 1st. Online qualifier Don Topel faced 2008 WSOP Player of the Year Erick Lindgren. Lindgren won the first few hands, but Topel stayed aggressive and won a big pot to turn the tables. The final hand started with Topel raising pre-flop with J-5 of hearts. Lindgren called with 9-7 of diamonds and the flop came 9-2-2 with two hearts. Lindgren checked, Topel bet out and Lindgren moved all-in. Topel called and made his flush on the turn when the four of hearts fell, eliminating Lindgren. Topel chose to stake his $40,000 in prize money and play a second pro for $200,000.

Topel took on Howard "The Professor" Lederer in his second match. Lederer won the first two major pots, but Topel fought back and triumphed to win the majority of chips in play. Lederer was down to his last few chips when he limped in with 4-2 of diamonds, pushing all-in as the flop came 6-9-7 with two diamonds. Topel called with Q-9, good for top pair and the lead in the hand. Lederer picked up a straight draw on the turn, but the river brought an ace and. Topel's Q-9 stood firm, awarding him the $200,000 prize.

After defeating Lederer, Topel could go home with the money or risk it all and play another pro for $1 million. He chose to Face The Ace once more, risking his $200,000 payday for a shot at $1 million.

Watch Face the Ace on Saturday, August 8th, at 9:00 PM ET on NBC to see whether Topel will win $1 million or walk away broke.
