"Personally, this is a favorite time of year for me. I get to take a break in the middle of harvest and see the fruits of my labor, as it were, poured for some of the world's best and brightest talent," said Jeffrey Stambor, Director of Winemaking for Beaulieu Vineyard. "While I am delighted that our historic Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is once again selected to pair with Chef Joachim Splichal's wonderful entree, I am really excited by the addition of the BV Wine Tasting Bars that have been added to this year's Governors Ball experience. I'm going to feel right at home!"

In keeping with this year's Emmy Celebration theme of Xanadu, a mythic pleasure palace, the Television Academy's Governors Ball Committee and event producers at Sequoia Productions have added lavish elements for the guests' enjoyment, including several tempting wine tasting bars. In addition to the wines selected to be served tableside with the meal, strolling wine lovers can sample a range of delicious limited edition Beaulieu Vineyard wines, several of which are available only at the Napa winery.

The 2008 Beaulieu Vineyard Carneros Chardonnay will join the 2005 Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon at the table and will be paired with Master Chef Joachim Splichal's impressive menu for the Governors Ball, the official celebration following the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards telecast.

BV Georges de Latour was the first private reserve Cabernet produced in America and has been a benchmark in California winemaking since the first vintage in 1936. Named for the winery founder, it is the most prestigious wine produced by Beaulieu Vineyard. The 2006 vintage released in September marks the 70th year that this premiere American reserve wine has been produced.

Beaulieu Vineyard, established in 1900, is a benchmark Napa Valley winery with a tradition of quality and innovation. Founded by French immigrant, Georges de Latour, Beaulieu Vineyard set early standards for excellence in premium winemaking that subsequent generations of vintners continue to maintain. Beaulieu Vineyard holds a unique place in the history of California wineries and is one of the most collected American Cabernets. For more information about Beaulieu Vineyard, visit www.bvwines.com.
