 LOS ANGELES, May 5 /PRNewswire/ --    What:   LA Galaxy legend Cobi Jones, Fox Sports en Espanol, HOLA and LA           City Recreation & Parks will host an exciting soccer clinic in Los           Angeles, aimed at empowering inner-city youth to advance their           lives by improving their grades and preparing for college. Forty           young people from the Rampart District will get the chance to           attend a soccer clinic hosted by Cobi Jones and get pointers to           enhance their soccer skills. About Cobi Jones

COBI JONES is a true Southern California sports legend, scoring the first goal in Los Angeles Galaxy club history and maintaining the title of the longest standing member of the MLS dynasty as a 12-year player for the club and now in his second season as an assistant coach. A two-time MLS Cup winner (2002 and 2005), Jones also has a storied international career with the US Men's National Soccer Team, being a permanent fixture from 1992- 2004, playing in three consecutive World Cups (1994, 1998, 2002). For his career, Jones amassed a record 164 caps for the Red, White and Blue, scoring 15 goals and adding 22 assists, which are the second most in National Team history. A native of Westlake Village, Calif., Jones played college soccer at UCLA, eventually leading the Bruins to the 1990 NCAA Championship. Enshrined into the UCLA Hall of Fame in 2002, Jones finished his college career with 23 goals and 37 assists in 90 games. After representing the U.S. at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, Jones went on to play overseas in both Europe and South America, spending time with Coventry City of the English Premier League and Brazilian side Vasco de Gama. Jones, considered to be one of the best soccer players the United States has ever produced, works closely with youth soccer organizations around the country as an ambassador to HOLA, Cal South (inducted in the Cal South Hall of Fame in 2009), AYSO, the US Soccer Foundation and AmericaSCORES.
